    1. I can't be the only one who finds code examples with "foo" and "bar" confusing. I think part of it is that we use "foo" and "bar" to refer to many different concepts: objects, lists, variables. Nothing about the terms "foo" or "bar" gives me a linguistic clue about what it is.
