My thoughts for the day: I would really like my career to get to the point where I don't have to weigh the personal cost of helping students more than I can. I feel like this is one of the hidden costs of being committed to DEI. I know this is the case with many others.

Institutions and organizations have to put a money value on compassion and mentoring, not treat it as a freebie. Sorry if this is a downer thread today, but I'm tired.
