      1. Ok, yesterday was a little much in terms of improvised lessons. We talked about factors in #ready4r (wish I had thought of more examples), and Installing packages (including Bioconductor) in #stats4neuro. I don't do the install session until late in courses. #rstats

      I have found that the error messages and warnings generated when installing packages are stressful for students, who think they did something wrong. Also, explaining .libPath is crucial, and that each version of R has its own library.

    We didn't get to installing RTools, which is a whole other kettle of fish. If there's a good document somewhere that talks about setting PATH on each OS, I'd really like to point students towards it. This is something that students struggle with in other classes, too.
